Our Experience
We’re from Spiti Valley. It’s where we were born and where we live. Years ago, travellers began arriving in our village, some needing a place to stay, a guide, directions, or just a hot meal. We helped the way anyone here would, never thinking of it as a business. They loved their time with us and told their friends and family, and over the years we hosted thousands of travellers, mostly by word of mouth. Eventually we realised this was already our work. People trusted us, so we decided to do it properly, with a registered company, clear planning and full support for every traveller. That’s how Alpine Routes began. The company is new, but our experience is not. We still do what we’ve always done: welcome you to Spiti as our guest and show you the valley the way we know it.
We scout and design our own trails, from quiet valleys to hidden viewpoints, so you see the mountains most visitors never reach.
Every trip is tracked against live mountain weather, with a ready backup route, so a change in the forecast never means a wasted day.
We cap groups at a handful of travelers, so you get personal attention, a lighter footprint on the trail, and time to enjoy the moment.
Our local guides are trained in first aid and high-altitude safety, and they share the stories, food and culture you won’t find in a guidebook.
We aren’t visitors. Spiti is our home, we know every corner, we open doors to local homes and traditions that outside operators can’t.

The best time to visit Winter Spiti Valley is generally from October to March, apart from heavy snowfall we take all prior measures to avoid road closures keeping in continuous touch with Border road Organization & All vehicles equipped with Snow chains.
Best time for winter Ladakh is from October to January end. Perfect sweet window without much Snowfall. As high passes from Manali route gets closed, travellers prefer flights directly to Leh and then cover Ladakh.
